Author's Note and Acknowledgements
Wow. Time really does fly when you're having fun.
Seems like it was just a couple of days ago when I posted
the first installment of this story, wondering if anybody
was going to see it and maybe even like it. That was May,
and here it is December.
I have a great time writing these stories; it's very nice to
have a place to put them where more than just a couple
of friends will read them and understand your strange obsession
with a bunch of fictional folks.
"Wrong Place, Wrong Time" grew out of a game that I ran
for my other SR group (the one I'm the GM for). Since Dan
runs all the published modules in our games (he doesn't have
time to come up with his own ideas), I'm forced to plumb
my twisted creative depths and come up with an original story
once every couple of months or so. This one was one of the
first ones I ran. The game was a success; the players seemed
to like it, and I had fun. When I was looking for a subject for
a serial story, I decided to take the plot framework for that
game and see how da boys ('Hawk and Ocelot) would deal with the same
situation. Quite a bit differently, I found out. :) While the
basic plot structure is the same between the two, the actual
implementation is not.
Anyway, I'm already hard at work on the next story (which should
begin appearing very shortly) and have ideas for at least
two more after that, so this series should be plugging along
for quite some time now. Hope you continue to enjoy them.
Acknowledgements
I'd like to acknowledge a few folks who've contributed in
one way or another to this story's existence, or at least
encouraged it...
- First there's Dan, the GM of our game, my best friend, and
the mind behind Ocelot. Although about 95% of the characterization
of Ocelot in the story is mine, Dan's invention and
continued exploration of the character have made it easy.
- Then there's Bob, Doug, and Taggart, whose characters, along with
Dan's other one, had to play through this sick little
scenario the *first* time.
- Steve and Ken, who, although their characters don't appear in
this story, have contributed a great deal toward the development
of all the characters in our game.
- Thanks to Shapcano
and Spydrr, who have sent me
numerous bits of praise and encouragement during the course of the
story. Compliments like theirs make it even more fun to
keep doing this.
- Finally, thanks to anybody else out there who's read the story,
sent me comments (good or bad), criticisms, and/or compliments. I'm
looking forward to posting the next story soon.
Cheers,
