Epilogue

Place unknown, date unknown, time unknown

From its location beyond normal space and time, it watched the happenings among the small ones with its baleful eyes, and smiled to itself.

This time was not right. The small ones had somehow thwarted its plans this time. It had been impatient, striking when it was still too weak. But there would be another time. Another day to continue its plans, when it was stronger. It could wait.

After all, it had all of eternity to play with.
