Arrived back in Seattle, after two months at home. Feeling as good as ever at this point; I was beginning to think that was never going to happen. Good to be back--as usual, home gets a bit boring if I stay too long.

This latest job is turning odd as usual, but this one is even odder than we're normally used to. First Mr. Johnson, who is in actuality Ms. Johnson, reveals her real name to us. Then she reveals the name of the party by whom we're to be employed. All of this would have been odd enough on its own, but I never thought I'd find myself working for Dunkelzahn himself.

We're in DC now, and things are getting strange. We didn't actually get to meet Dunkelzahn (which I'm quite disappointed about--I'm still hoping that if we're successful in our mission we'll have the opportunity), but I'm certainly willing to believe that we're working for the dragon, given the things that have been happening lately.

Ever since we arrived in Washington DC, everything has been just slightly off. Public telecomm terminals won't let us make calls outside of town, but then one inside a bar will. Attempting to astrally project outside of DC results in a strange sensation of moving forward without moving forward, and the inability to get out of town at all. Odd, identical people in identical vans doing surveillance in haphazard locations. A friend being successful in astrally projecting into DC, but with an astral form that looks all wrong.

Had to hit 'Wraith with a sleep spell to calm him down, which didn't make me (or him) terribly happy. He has a problem with confinement, and he's now convinced (as am I) that we're in another "moo" situation where the best thing to do is just forge ahead, complete our mission, and not ask too many questions. I think we're somehow on a metaplane; Joe is convinced that we're in the midst of someone's simsense experiment. Either way, the situation is adjusting itself to what we're doing, and I'm convinced that trying to thwart it would be counterproductive. I think we've got 'Wraith calmed down at this point; at least he's no longer trying to hot-wire the van and get out of town (which we're all convinced would not be possible anyway).

Currently, we're headed to the Washington Towers Hotel to complete our mission. After that, perhaps we'll find out what this is all about.
